As selected press gathered for an intimate press conference, they were informed that he had only just left for a gold store appearance in Dubai’s desi area, better known as Meena Bazaar. The thought of waiting a few hours for him to return in heavy weekend traffic, did not bother a single scribe, because the Dubai myth is that someone high up shares a good friendship with the actor and he would be given a police escort back to the venue.

Obama Warns India on Minorities Rights

President Barrack Obama’s recent visit to India has been dubbed a “bromance” by India media, as both Obama and Modi enjoyed tea together in a lotus garden, broadcast-ed a radio show together, and spent two hours conversing in a rain-splashed military parade. However, on the concluding day of his visit, President Obama pleaded for freedom of religion to be upheld in India. Although President Obama made no direct reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or its auxiliary fanatic Sangh Parivar, whose rise to power has encouraged the Hindu fanatics to work on the agenda of Hindutva – Hindutva a clear agenda of Hindunization of India.

Obama warned India not to divert from its constitutional obligation to allow its citizen to freely “profess, practice and propagate” religion.  He said ‘Your Article 25 (of the Indian constitution) says that all people are ‘equally entitled to freedom of conscience and the right freely to profess, practice and propagate religion. India will succeed so long as it is not splintered along the lines of religious faith, as long as it is not splintered along any lines and it is unified as one nation. He added “In both our countries, in all countries, upholding this fundamental freedom is the responsibility of government, but it’s also the responsibility of every person.”
President Obama may not have known that the explanation of the article 25 of the Indian Constitution itself is considered to be controversial. The explanation of article 25 curtails the religious identity of Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists of India by not recognizing them as separate religious entity and treating them as Hindus.
Prior, Obama’s visit to India, human right activists initiated an online petition to the White House, urging Obama to stress upon Modi to “preserve and promote the religious freedom” of minorities and raise concerns about reports of violence against Christians.
Only days after warning in New Delhi about the need to promote religious forbearance, Obama pleaded the same during a speech in Washington. He described India as a place where “religious faiths of all types have, on occasion, been targeted by other peoples of faith, simply due to their heritage and their beliefs”. He added, ‘Mahatma Gandhi would have been shocked by communal violence in the mainly Hindu country.’ Obama’s comments came on the same day that a protest in Delhi by Christians to condemn a sequence of attacks on churches ended in clashes with police that saw a nun knocked to the ground in the violence.

Shah Rukh Khan to be in 'Dhoom 4'?

Shah Rukh Khan has been a part of many blockbusters produced by Yash Raj Films and he won't mind joining their popular 'Dhoom' franchise if the project is offered to him.


So after John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan who have played the main villain in Dhoom franchise it might be SRK.

During a press meet when asked if he would like to do a negative role in 'Dhoom 4', the actor said,"I am doing a film with Yash Raj and that's 'Fan'. If I get an opportunity, I would love to do it. I find it very cool."


The first 'Dhoom' movie came in 2004 starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu.

While women work in most areas including as technicians and hairdressers, the industry does not allow women to work as make-up artists. Trade unions say this is to ensure men are not deprived of work.
The country's $2-billion film industry is the largest in the world by ticket sales. It produces between 300 to 325 movies a year and, although there are no official figures, trade analysts say the Hindi-language industry alone employs more than 250,000 people, most of them contract workers.
But in a court case brought by a group of women make-up artists against the Cine Costume Make-up Artists and Hair Dressers Association (CCMAA), a two-judge bench said recently that it would not permit this type of discrimination,had reported.
"Why should only a male artist be allowed to put make-up? How can it be said that only men can be make-up artists and women can be hairdressers? We don't see a reason to prohibit a woman from becoming a make-up artist if she is qualified," the quoted Justice Misra and Justice UU Lalit as saying in the previous hearing on 3 November.
"You better delete this clause on your own. Remove this immediately. We are in 2014, not in 1935. Such things cannot continue even for a day," they had told the CCMAA then.
While this case relates to the Mumbai-based Bollywood, the court said it will take action against regional language film industries based in cities such as Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad which also bar women make-up artists.

Bad music being sold with good marketing in Bollywood: Kailash Kher

Singer Kailash Kher said that good marketing was driving bad songs in Bollywood. Agencies

"Bad product with good marketing is being sold. But it's not necessary that the strategy will always work. The song being appreciated or liked by people today may not appeal after a year or so," Kailash told IANS in an interview. The singer was in the capital recently for the anniversary celebrations of an NGO, The Hans Foundation.
However, Kher also points out that "the music industry is rolling out some good and better songs, but filmy music is more popular" because of marketing strategy.
The "Allah ke bande" crooner has been associated with a slew of social causes and has participated in many charity-based concerts from time to time. Kailash is also one of the nine people nominated by Prime Minister  to take forward the message of Clean India.
"Working towards a social cause is my passion. I want to devote 25 -30 per cent of my income towards a good cause. I was a nobody and didn't even dream of becoming a star. So it's my way of reciprocating the love, appreciation, and trust I have gained," said the 41-year-old.
For the singer, the main reason behind being a good Samaritan is "people believe in stars and follow them and this can bring a change".
"If I cannot go out and teach, I can at least stand with people associated with a cause and get it in the spotlight. I also believe that the message we spread through music is more powerful," he said.
Kailash is known for his soul-stirring songs like "Teri deewani", "Saiyyan" and "Babam bam", but the singer says people don’t understand the deeper meanings of his songs.
“The intricacies of the songs are still not known. Every song provides a message along with entertainment,” he said. The singer is working on a new album, for which he has collaborated with a folk singer Prahlad Singh Tipanya.
